With Tamashii, the goal was to break the mental pattern in which a table is perceived. There must be no separation between top and legs. The focus must be shifted to the product in its entirety, to its soul. The way to achieve this was to have the horizontal plane's materiality dive into the substance of the vertical supports. The vertical cut of the table leg lets the soul be perceived. The material essence of the top allows an understanding of the table as a whole.
