Discover Bolina e Levante

Bolina is the first product I designed for m. artedesign, a company with a strong passion for design and the goal of pursuing quality in every detail of the product.

Bolina, presented for the first time at Design Week 2022 in Milan, is a seat designed for both outdoor and indoor spaces and made from three arches in metal wire that are curved and welded to make the design unique and unprecedented. The three curves generate a shape that recalls the sails of a boat inflated by the wind: hence the name Bolina, which is the speed of the boat that allows it to proceed when the wind is opposite diagonally. And diagonality is also the aesthetic feature of the outdoor collection.

My contribution for m. artedesign also includes Levante, a family of injection-molded post-industrial recycled polypropylene armchairs that were previewed during the Orgatec fair in Cologna. The seats are characterized by a diagonal cut that creates an unprecedented harmony of enveloping surfaces and sharp edges. The aesthetic was born as an inevitable consequence of the construction method of the upholstered version: the seat, composed of only two curved surfaces in 2D that are generated by the diagonal curve, promotes easy padding and coating, limiting molds and seams.’
